Don't have any real comment on gun combat as of yet, because i've just used my tranquilizer gun a couple times, but i just had to drop it to make space for an assault rifle, so the bullets will be flying soon. The cover system is taking some getting used to, but i'm growing to like it. Story is good, with lots of interesting little details here and there which may or may not have anything to do with anything. The hacking can be quite difficult beyond the easiest level, too, but again, i imagine it will become easier with augmentations. I think with some stealth augmentations things will be smoother. So far i've been trying not to kill anyone, either avoiding them or knocking them out, and it's had me reloading saves quite often. I play stealth when given the chance, and i've played any stealth game you can name, but the AI in this seems much sharper (haven't seen any AI bugs yet, but you see one or two in every game so it's just a matter of time). Did the first few main missions and working on a bunch of side ones. HORRIBLE AI do not let people tell you otherwise just because the enemies talk a lot and take cover in random places. In one place I killed every soldier and destroyed every robot but the hostage scientists won't leave out the front door until I go through the story triggers anyway and then it shows tons of guards being distracted and running everywhere in the cutscene. I wanted some big awesome fights but I never got more then maybe six armed enemies at a time because the ones inside just didn't care that their buddies were dying with alarms blaring and explosions going off. Their whole area just stays green two offices down or inside the building the outer guards have to protect and the inner group doesn't know anything is wrong, which was just stupid to me. They will stop and refuse to go past certain points and again just start waiting to forget they ever saw you, making hit-and-run an automatic win in most areas since your HP regens and theirs doesn't.Īlarms are compartmentalized and guys from the next area won't come in and help their buds. I walked into a stairwell one time and guards on the catwalk above and on the bottom floor (who can see me and eachother at the time) both go 'I don't know if he's still around.' and 'I lost him.' all at the same time, and started forgetting me immediately. which is confusing because some people seem to praise the AI in this game.

Shooting a guy in the head from behind/below is nearly impossible, always counts as a back shot.ĪI is bad. Guys will fire at you like rambo until you kill them, but if you kill a guy -even one that hasn't gotten a shot off- he'll have only 1-4 bullets in his assault rifle and only 5 bullets extra on his person, if any. You can 'take cover' but enemies can still hit you if they spray your cover sometimes vs if you just crouch. Shooter side makes a lot of really classic mistakes like bosses with tons and tons of HP but no life bar displayed.

DEUS EX HUMAN REVOLUTION SHOTGUN SERIES

Immediately lost the whole series and whatever she would offer after that, because she wouldn't talk to me anymore.

one part had you meet with him first thing, so I walked to the meeting and put a bullet in his head. There was one time when someone offered me a three part mission to bust a dirty cop. My playthrough was hyper aggressive and I killed just about everyone, which no doubt lost me a lot of side stuff. Main character is an ex-cop and every cop in the station knows him, but you can walk up and kill three of them in plain sight then leave, and when you come back it's back to 'Hey there, Jenson!' (This is literally the first minute or two of the game after the tutorial, not a spoiler at all.) If you don't rush to the chopper at the start to do the first mission, the hostages are dead when you arrive and SWAT thinks you're an evil bastard corporation. but at other times setting the main quest aside will hurt you. You can't however choose where you go to, and you need to totally set aside the main quest to do side stuff at times. Shooter side is very fun and has a neat cover system, but has a lot of stupid flaws that game developers really should have learned not to do by now.
